Hopping around Europe
First of all a huge THANK YOU for stopping by, I really appreciate it!
This blog is all about you and European Getaways, and a little bit about me and the rest of the world. I would love to help you make the most out of your travels by providing you with practical ABCs, history, and fun facts about places. Hopefully, I can inspire you with my posts and photos and make you dream away for a little while. I am mostly about a mid-range budget, with a little bit of luxury once in a while. But I am not throwing my money away, and I don’t want you to do that either.
I am a Norwegian girl married with two teenagers and a cat. I love to travel – near and far. I mostly travel with my husband and the teens but occasionally I go on press trips. This means that I travel with a group of known or unknown people where local tourism offices showcase the best of the destination.
Based in Norway, just outside of Oslo, I go on most of the trips to Europe. However, a few times a year I travel overseas. Cities are my preferable destinations but I would travel anywhere from the mountains to the beaches to the small villages. It is the people, culture, food, and history that appeal to me and this is also the focus of my posts.
Travelletters is all about how to make most out of your precious vacation time. Are you traveling in Europe and spending a few days at each destination then this blog is exactly what you need.

About me
My name is Lena and I was born in Kyiv Ukraine. I moved to Norway after I met my hubby, or so-called my better half. I have always loved to travel and have always been curious about other cultures, history, and languages. I like to write and take pictures and always bring my camera with me – to sometimes huge annoyance to my family. I love dark chocolate, wine, food, and yoga, and road trips are probably my preferable way of traveling.
The teens are 15 and 18 yo. Sometimes we drag them along on the trips. We also have a cat – a huge Maine Coon boy, called Simba. He usually comes along whenever we go to the mountains, but otherwise, he is staying at home and protects the house (he is one crazy cat, so no one messes with him).
Despite the crazy year of 2020 when I lost my job due to the virus and couldn’t travel abroad, I focused on exploring the beautiful country I live in. This means that you are in for a treat for future resources when you come to visit Norway.
If you have any questions for me, please get in touch via the work with me page. I am looking forward to hearing from you! See you around the world 🙂
The 27 countries and three continents we have visited so far will show you that you can see a lot during your vacation.
Hope to see you around and happy reading!
