RXV Wellness Village Sampran
When the biggest smiles in the world greet you, you know your stay will be good. Add an amazing room with a view, yoga before breakfast, hydrotherapy, and healing sound bowl therapy; you know it probably won’t get any better.

RXV Wellness welcomes all – families, couples, singles, and friends. The activities and programs are adjusted accordingly. Older kids can attend yoga or Thai chi classes while parents get treatments, and they can all meet by the pool outside later. Friends can attend hydrotherapy together, get their own treatments, and meet for tea later. Couples can do morning yoga or couples massage or have separate activities. Whatever pleases every individual or a group. If you are considering wellness with family or friends, then this wellness resort is for you!

While I waited for my check-in, I got a non-alcoholic, healthy drink with a drop of lime on the side. Add the drops to your drink; it is healthy and entertaining as it changes color. I was then taken to my room to refresh before being met in the lobby and taken to the spa and treatment. The spacious area was covered in soft daylight. Beautiful and colorful orchids decorate the area. Here, I was met by the friendly staff who helped me choose my treatment for the next day.
It was time for hydrotherapy, which is good for sore muscles, joint pain, relaxation, constipation, etc.

The most surprising experience I will never forget was the healing crystal bowl sound therapy. It was so meditative and relaxing that I fell asleep. I lay on the mat and put soothing cotton pads on my eyes when this sweet girl started to hit the bowls, and out came the most beautiful and relaxing sounds.

The restaurant serves healthy Thai food, focusing on a few areas, such as detox, food for the brain, digestive, and other areas. On weekdays, you can order breakfast from the menu. On weekends, you can order from the buffet. There is also a substantial organic market in the hotel area on Saturday that you can visit for a new experience.

RAKxa Wellness Resort
On my further exploration of wellness travel, I visited the luxury, high-end RAKxa Wellness resort. This adults-only resort is a true oasis. I was welcomed by smiling staff, a non-alcoholic drink, and the soothing sounds of bowls played by one of the staff members before I was taken to my villa. I was in total privacy, surrounded by lush greens and birds singing. The villa was spacious and luxurious, and I would have no problem staying here for the whole week.

The concept here is simple—you know what you want, and they get you there. My stay at RAKxa Wellness started with seeing two doctors—medical and holistic. We talked about my goals and areas I wanted to focus on, and they set up a program to reach my goals. My timetable was completely individual, and if I wanted to change anything due to how my body felt that day, I had my own advisor I could contact on WhatsApp. The program is so well curated that you still have time to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the resort.

The resort is so large that you don’t see any other guests except for meals. I felt at peace, calm, and quiet but never lonely. The recommended Thai massage with oil and stomach massage for my breathing muscle diaphragm was excellent. So was the physiotherapy treatment with exercises and a state-of-the-art deep tissue treatment machine. The day I left, my muscles finally felt like muscles and stones.

All the equipment and treatment machines are state-of-the-art, whether you get deep muscle treatment, cupping, Ayurveda massage, oxygen tank treatment, IV treatment, or anything else. In between all the treatments, they will serve you tea with a light snack at the Tea house.

The food is healthy, and many of the herbs the chefs use in cooking grow in the resort’s garden. The lunch and dinner menus are set of five dishes, with bread and kombucha as extras. Let them know if you have any allergies or food intolerances. The resort serves no alcohol and no caffeine after one p.m.

Between treatments, I enjoyed a smoothie by the most calming and relaxing pool. When it was time to get a new treatment, or I wanted to go back to my villa, I could just order a baggy—a golf cart—to take me back, walk, or use a bike you have at your disposal by the villa.

Several countries offer wellness travel, but these two wellness resorts are in their own league. Both are easily accessible and are located only around one hour from Bangkok. You can come here straight from the airport or spend a few days in bustling Bangkok before you take a few days to rewind and refill your energy.
I was invited to the resorts by The Thailand Tourism Board. All experiences and opinions are my own.
